Join GreenHomeNYC Saturday, July 23rd as we tour one of New York's newest, greenest multifamily buildings!
Blue Sea Development has recently completed a
multifamily affordable co-op in the Bronx using some of the latest in
sustainable and energy efficient design. The Melody, as the building
is named, is comprised of 63 affordable one, two and three bedroom
cooperative apartments with a fully equipped fitness center and outdoor
fitness path. It is the first residential building in New York to
comply with the NYC Active Design Guidelines, promoting physical
activity and health through building design.
The Melody is Energy Star labeled under NYSERDA's
Multifamily Performance Program and certified LEED Platinum under the
USGBC's LEED for Homes program.
Some features include:
- High efficiency condensing gas boilers
- Combined Heat and Power co-generation units
- Eco-space elevator
Long-time green developer Les Bluestone will personally guide
the tour. It will be a fantastic opportunity to learn about the latest
sustainable building practices here in NYC as well as a good chance to
hear first-hand about the development process from one of the best in
the biz.
